Melba Keller, a lifelong resident of Owens Valley, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
She was born June 8, 1923 at Fish Springs to Harry and Lena Watterson.
She is survived by six children, Donald Watterson (Debra), Pamela Charley (Ben), Beverly Coons (Stephen), Marcella Masten-Keller, Lester Keller (Ann) and Edward Keller (Karlinda). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mark Hunter McFarland
Mark Hunter McFarland, resident of Bishop, born April 7, 1962 in Long Beach, passed away at his home in Bishop on April 16, 2014. Mark moved to Bishop with his family in 1971. He graduated from Bishop Union High School in 1980. He attended West Hills College in Coalinga and returned to Bishop in 1982. Mark worked for Value Sports in Bishop.
He was preceded in death by his father, William McFarland.
Survived by his mother, Geraldine McFarland of Bishop; and brother, Mike McFarland of Las Vegas, Nev.
Melinda Fimbres Ridley
Melinda Fimbres Ridley, age 83, passed away peacefully at her Bishop home on April 11, 2014; after an eight-year battle with Alzheimerâ€™s disease. She was born and raised in Bishop. As an adult, Melinda spent 45 years away from Bishop, living in Los Angeles and Orange counties, where she had worked as an accountant. In 1996, Melinda returned to Bishop for her retirement.
Evelina Zoe Stone
Evelina Zoe Stone was born and passed away on March 28, 2014 in Carson City. She went to be with the Lord and all of her ancestors on that day. We will forever love and miss her, as she touched many lives even for the short time she was here with us.
Edgar Merlin Olsen was born on March 13, 1940 in Lead, S.D. to Clarence and Thelma Olsen. He passed away peacefully on March 29, 2014, with his wife of 53 years, Pat, at his side, at the Ronald Reagan Medical Center at UCLA, after a long illness.
Gertrude Virginia Moore
Gertrude Virginia Larson Moore was one of eight children born to two Swedes: Gerda and Carl Larson in Holdrege, Neb. She was the last surviving of those seven girls and one boy.
Maxine was born on Nov. 25, 1924 in Wynngate, Texas, and passed away peacefully on March 17, 2014 in Mentone after suffering from dementia for several years.
She raised her family in San Bernardino and worked for San Bernardino County until her retirement in 1982. She relocated to Bishop/Big Pine, and worked for Inyo County until retirement in 1989.
Maxine was an active member of the Sierra Singles Club until her diagnosis in 2004 when her family relocated her back to the Inland Empire.
Gordon Jay Spoor
Gordon Jay Spoor, 76, of Bishop, passed away April 5, 2014.
He was born to the late Garrett and Florence Spoor on Nov. 18, 1937, in Bishop. He graduated from Bishop High School in 1955 and joined the US Navy. During his time in the service he married Darlene Clement (also of Bishop) on Nov. 10, 1957 and they began their family.
James Melvin Duckey
James Melvin Duckey, a lifelong resident of the Owens Valley passed away April 1, 2014 at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Kevin Russell Crosio
Kevin Russell Crosio, 58, a resident of Bishop for 11 years, born in Malden, Mass. on July 10, 1955, passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2014 at Northern Inyo Hospital with family and friends by his side.
Kevin was an avid fisherman and everyone who lived in the Eastern Sierra knew Kevin from his truck with the license plate â€śFISHMAS.â€ť One time in San Felipe, Baja, Kevin and his sister Debbie caught so many sea bass that the boat almost sank.
