Anita Rae Wallis
Anita Rae Wallis, born June 10, 1948 in San Diego, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2014.
The family moved to Lone Pine when she was very young. There she graduated from high school and was residing there at the time of her death, working at Josephâs Market for more than 10 years and volunteering at the VFW.
She is survived by her twin brother, Mike Wallis; her daughter, Deena Roberts; and her husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Kevin, Kayla, Dylan, Kelton and Kyle; and four great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Pam Wallis; and nephews, Wally and Fred and family.

Born May 10, 1948, Anita Rae Wallis passed away Sept. 12, 2014.
She is survived by her partner of 21 years, Linda Gregg of Independence; her daughter, Deena Roberts and her family of Arkansas, including Anitaâs grandchildren; brother, Mike Wallis; sister-in-law, Pam Wallis of Bishop; as well as family and friends of more than 58 years, including Steve and Rosie Young of Lone Pine.
A celebration of life was held Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Lone Pine VFW Hall.
Louis âLouâ Richard Hahaj
Louis Richard Hahaj (Lou), age 56, died at Renown Regional Medical center in Reno, Nev. on Sept. 13, 2014 after a long illness.
Born Aug. 28, 1958 in San Gabriel, Louâs family moved to Bishop when he was 6. Lou served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978 until 1983 when he was honorably discharged. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for 37 years.
Lou had a big heart and loved his family very much. He would have given anything to anyone in need. Lou will be missed.
Sima Fotouhi Rashidian
Sima Fotouhi Rashidian, 65, passed away on Sept. 13, 2014 after many years of coping with Myotonic Dystrophy. Despite her disability, she gracefully accepted her condition and lived every moment to the fullest, appreciating all she had in life.
Teresa Lynn Perkins
Teresa Lynn Perkins was born on April 18, 1961 in Lancaster. She passed away on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, N.M. Teresa was 53 years old.
Teresa was a paralegal for six years, working in both Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. She loved shopping. Teresa enjoyed collecting a variety of items including flowers, plants, turtles, hummingbirds and dogs. She was very strong in her faith which gave her family a lot of peace.
Leonard J. Olive
Born June 20, 1922 at Chelan, Wash., Leonard J. Olive passed away Sept. 6, 2014 at Southern Inyo Hospital of natural causes.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Lee Olive; son, Leonard II (Rogelen); son, Mark; two daughters; two granddaughters, Jessica and Nadine; four stepchildren; and six step grandchildren.
Per Leonardâs wishes, a private interment with close family and friends will be held at the Independence Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Andrea J. Garrison-Erickson
Andrea J. Garrison- Erickson, 62, of Coleville, passed away on Sept. 10, 2014 at her home on the Garrison Ranch in Antelope Valley, Coleville. Andrea was born Jan. 7, 1952 in Schurz, Nev. to Andrew âAndyâ Garrison and Gertrude Tom-Garrison of Coleville.
From a very early age Andrea was the picture of strength and determination. After recovering from childhood arthritis, she went on to lead the typical life of a child growing up on a ranch; horseback riding, playing in the fields and keeping her siblings in line.
Maureen Mary Cardenas
Maureen Mary Cardenas was born July 30, 1957 in Bishop and passed away Aug. 31, 2014 at the Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop where she was undergoing emergency treatment for multiple health reasons. She was the youngest of nine children born to Connie Mack and Rosalind Marie Denver of Bishop.
Paul Oscar Selvidge
Born Aug. 19, 1954 at St. Joseph Hospital in Santa Ana, Paul Oscar Selvidge, a loving father, friend and family man, passed away Aug. 30, 2014 at his home in Bishop.
Paul worked at Northern Inyo Hospital as a custodian for 15 years. He also did volunteer work on the board of representative for IMACA and finished out his days working as the apartment manager for IMACAâs senior apartment complex on Clarke Street for more than a decade.
Harry Ross Mathers
Harry Ross Mathers, 83 of Carlin, Nev. passed away Aug. 31 after a long battle with lung cancer and other complications. Harry was born on July 2, 1931 in Knowles, Okla. during the dust bowl days. His family left the state in 1933 and moved to the Mockingbird Canyon area of Riverside to start a new life there. With his parentsâ permission, he joined the Navy at 17 and served aboard the USS Sperry during the Korean War.
