Joanne Louise Barton
Joanne Louise Barton, 79 of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. passed away March 2, 2014 at her home in Lake Havasu City.
She was born on April 22, 1934 in Oakland to Francis (Frank) P. Butterworth and Olive L. Veale Butterworth.
Joanne grew up in Northern California where she enjoyed family vacations at the beach. She met her husband Floyd in South Lake Tahoe and they raised their family in beautiful Inyo County. Joanne worked for the Inyo County Recorderâs Office for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and traveling with her husband.
Robert Emil Schroeder
Husband, father, and dear friend Bob Schroeder passed away Feb. 25, 2014 in Gardnerville, Nev., with his beloved wife of 54 years, Joanne, by his side.
Bob was born near St. Louis, Mo. on Dec. 29, 1929 and was the only son to his parents; Emil Fredrick Karl Schroeder and Thelma (Quast) Schroeder. In 1950, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Corporal as a Finance Officer during the Korean Warâ.
Karen Dell Bradley
Karen Dell Bradley, age 77, born in Bishop on Dec. 12, 1936, passed away March 3, 2014 at her home in Big Pine. Karen lived in Big Pine nearly all her life. While making a home for herself and her husband and their three children and six grandchildren, she also helped raise several generations of Big Pine families.
Harold Francis Kopp
On Feb. 19, 2014, Harold Francis Kopp, age 87, longtime resident of Inyo and Mono counties, passed away peacefully at his home in Bishop. He was born Dec. 30, 1926 to Hillard Daniel Kopp and Anna Christine Scott, in Venice Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara; and brothers, Hillard Daniel Jr. and Gerald Loyal Kopp.
Helen Julia Barlow Talbot
Helen Julia Barlow Talbot was born Aug. 20, 1916 in Bishop, the oldest of four children of Arthur and Edith Barlow. Her grandfather was one of the early settlers in the Owens Valley and Barlow Lane was named after the family. She passed away peacefully on Feb. 21, 2014.
Margaret Ann Trexler Prewitt
Born June 16, 1930 in Davidson County, N.C, Margaret Ann Trexler Prewitt passed away Feb. 15, 2014.
Margaret graduated from Ashebore High School and served in the U.S. Navy from June 1951 through June 1953. She married Robert Lee Prewitt May 5, 1957.
After settling in Lone Pine, she worked as a nurse at the local hospital until she retired in 1972. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Richard Orrill at the age of 89. Richard passed away Feb. 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
Harold Carmical Jr.
Harold Carmical Jr., age 66, passed away Feb. 24, 2014. He was a native of Harlan, Ky. but lived in Rutherford County, Tenn. the last few years.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Carmical Sr. and Rosalie Carmical; and brother, Roger Carmical.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Carmical; daughter, Michelle (Bill) Cravens of Murfreesboro; brother, Damon Carmical of Corbin, Ky. and Robert Carmical of Virginia; sister, Kathy Dutta of Frankfort, Ky. and Jamie Carmical of Frankfort, Ky.; and grandson, Tyler Vandagriff Cravens.
Marie Louise Taylor
Marie Louise (Swenson) Taylor passed in her sleep on Feb. 16, 2014 at her home in Round Valley.
Marie was born in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to the United States with her adopted parents, Mary and Bruno Swenson, at the age of 4. They entered through Ellis Island, N.Y. and made their residence in the East Bay Area of California.
Marie began her education in the public schools of San Leandro, Calif. When she entered school she did not speak English.
Dennis Ray Wiley
Dennis Ray Wiley was gracefully drafted up to pitch with the Heavenly Angels on Feb. 16, 2014, at home with family by his side after a short battle with esophageal cancer. He was 60 years of age.
A celebration of Dennisâs life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Calvary Chapel, 210 E. Springer in Ridgecrest. Pastor Billy Phipps from RCA will officiate and reception to follow. Softball attire/casual wear is highly encouraged as this is what Dennis would want.
