Ruth Marie Barney
Earlene Wright passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 11, 2014. She was 80 years old.
She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, William; brother, Bud (Maurine) of Bakersfield; son, Randy (SharonLea) of Bishop; daughters, Pam (David Kim) of Sparks, Nev. and Tam (Mike, deceased) of Oroville; five grandchildren, Chris, Bryan, Melissa, Mandy and Kelsey; and four great-grandchildren, Jack, Henry, Cameron and Kylie.
Leslie Barbara Crellin
Lone Pine resident Leslie B. Crellin, 67, born in San Mateo on Oct. 20, 1946 passed away Feb. 10, 2014.
Leslie is survived by her brother, Kevin Ernst; sister, Meredith Crellin Langley; uncle, Tom Crellin; and her cat, Beckham.
At her request, no memorial services will be held.
Any donations should be sent to her favorite charity, ICARE â€“ New Animal Shelter Fund, Box 76, Bishop, CA. 93515, in her memory.
Bonnie Lucille Wallis
Bonnie Lucille Wallis, age 84 died peacefully on Feb. 13, at her home in Bishop. Bonnie was born Oct. 19, 1929 in Ringling, Okla. She was preceded in death by her significant other of 35 years, Gene Black, of Bishop.
Bonnie retired from Contel Telephone Company (now known as Verizon) in 1986, at which time she relocated from Victorville to Bishop. She also lived many years in Barstow where she raised her three children.
Francis â€˜Frankâ€™ J. Byrne
Francis passed away Jan. 16, 2014 in Arizona. He grew up in Bishop during the â€™30s and early â€™40s with his four brothers and sister. They lived on North Home Street for many years with their parents, John and Agnes.
Frank and his brother Tom were great athletes, particularly in football and were on many championship teams in California.
The smile of Ronald Walton (more affectionately known as Ronnie, Ron-boy and Smiley) beamed from Feb. 11, 1960 until Feb. 3, 2014, and will continue to shine in the memories of the many who loved him. He was a good and generous friend to all and an inspiration to many.
Michele Urquhart (Pinizzotto)
We are sad to announce the passing of our sister, aunt and friend, Michele Urquhart (Pinizzotto), on the morning of Feb. 4, 2014 at Renown Medical Center in Reno. Michele left us unexpectedly after a brief illness.
Brenda (Larson) Mack
Brenda (Larson) Mack, 53, beloved educator and wife of Louis J. Mack, died peacefully at home in her sleep on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Weaverville in 1960, she grew up in Northern California. She graduated from Yreka High School in 1978. While attending College of the Siskiyous, she met Louis Mack, and together they attended Humboldt University, graduating in 1982. The same year, Brenda and Louis were married in Yreka.
Russell H. Forsyth
Russell H. Forsyth, age 101, a resident of Big Pine for 35 years, born in Los Angeles on June 29, 1912, passed away Feb. 7, 2014 in Bishop.
Russell worked for the same company for 47 years, retired and moved to Big Pine with his wife Norma. They traveled 125,000 miles through 49 of the 50 states stopping to play his favorite sports: golfing and fishing. He loved life, his family and fishing Big Pine Creek.
Evelyn Lillie Nelson
Evelyn Nelson, a longtime Lone Pine resident, went to be with her Savior Feb. 3, 2014 at the age of 102.
Born Evelyn Lillie Wiltfang on Dec. 30, 1911 to Leonard and Carrie Wiltfang in Eugene, Ore. She lived 77 years in Inyo County and most of those years in Lone Pine. She was crowned the first Miss Inyo County at the Keeler Pool in July 1929 and graduated from Lone Pine High School in 1930. She had been a great fan of â€“ and player on â€“ the girlsâ€™ basketball team. She was married to Delbert George Nelson in August of that same year.
