Marie Louise Taylor
Marie Louise (Swenson) Taylor passed in her sleep on Feb. 16, 2014 at her home in Round Valley.
Marie was born in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to the United States with her adopted parents, Mary and Bruno Swenson, at the age of 4. They entered through Ellis Island, N.Y. and made their residence in the East Bay Area of California.
Marie began her education in the public schools of San Leandro, Calif. When she entered school she did not speak English.
Margaret Ann Trexler Prewitt
Born June 16, 1930 in Davidson County, N.C., Margaret Ann Trexler Prewitt passed away Feb. 15, 2014.
Margaret graduated from Ashebore High School and served in the U.S. Navy from June 1951 through June 1953. She married Robert Lee Prewitt May 5, 1957.
After settling in Lone Pine, she worked as a nurse at the local hospital until she retired in 1972. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
James W.H. Charlton
James W.H. Charlton, also known as âBill,â was born Feb. 29, 1916 in Bella Coola, British Columbia, Canada. In 1922, his family was flooded out and moved to Riverside. Bill spent his school years, kindergarten through Riverside Junior College, in Riverside. From 1936 to 1938 Bill went to U.C. Berkeley and received his Bachelorâs degree in Forestry. He went to work for the U.S. Forest Service on the Cleveland National Forrest.
Lynelle Jo Romero
Born April 26, 1950 in Coalinga, Lynelle Jo Romero, 63, passed away Feb. 14, 2014 at Riverside Community Hospital.
Lynelle was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Oyster.
Lynelle was a teacher who had taught in numerous places in her 38 years of teaching at Utah, Big Pine, Owens Valley High School and Lone Pine High School. She loved spending time with her sons and grandchildren. She loved to read books and travel with her mother and sons. She had a heart of gold and will be truly missed by all.
Ruth Marie Barney
Earlene Wright passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 11, 2014. She was 80 years old.
She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, William; brother, Bud (Maurine) of Bakersfield; son, Randy (SharonLea) of Bishop; daughters, Pam (David Kim) of Sparks, Nev. and Tam (Mike, deceased) of Oroville; five grandchildren, Chris, Bryan, Melissa, Mandy and Kelsey; and four great-grandchildren, Jack, Henry, Cameron and Kylie.
Leslie Barbara Crellin
Lone Pine resident Leslie B. Crellin, 67, born in San Mateo on Oct. 20, 1946 passed away Feb. 10, 2014.
Leslie is survived by her brother, Kevin Ernst; sister, Meredith Crellin Langley; uncle, Tom Crellin; and her cat, Beckham.
At her request, no memorial services will be held.

Bonnie Lucille Wallis
Bonnie Lucille Wallis, age 84 died peacefully on Feb. 13, at her home in Bishop. Bonnie was born Oct. 19, 1929 in Ringling, Okla. She was preceded in death by her significant other of 35 years, Gene Black, of Bishop.
Bonnie retired from Contel Telephone Company (now known as Verizon) in 1986, at which time she relocated from Victorville to Bishop. She also lived many years in Barstow where she raised her three children.
Francis âFrankâ J. Byrne
Francis passed away Jan. 16, 2014 in Arizona. He grew up in Bishop during the â30s and early â40s with his four brothers and sister. They lived on North Home Street for many years with their parents, John and Agnes.
Frank and his brother Tom were great athletes, particularly in football and were on many championship teams in California.
The smile of Ronald Walton (more affectionately known as Ronnie, Ron-boy and Smiley) beamed from Feb. 11, 1960 until Feb. 3, 2014, and will continue to shine in the memories of the many who loved him. He was a good and generous friend to all and an inspiration to many.
