Debra Lea OâNeal
Debra Lea OâNeal, 59, passed away March 8, 2014 at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany on Dec. 20, 1954. She graduated from Simi Valley High School and after graduating she headed the Corporate Suggestion Program at Home Savings. She moved to Bishop with her husband Steve in 1991, where they raised their family.
Lloyd Edward Knight
Lifelong Bishop resident Lloyd Edward Knight, 91, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Lloyd was born in Provo, Utah on Dec. 6, 1922 to Frank and Blanche Knight.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Myrtle; daughters, Lynette Williamson and husband Bart of Bishop, Debbie Jeffery and husband, George of Oxnard; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lloyd was loved very deeply by his family and he will be missed greatly.
Richard David âDickâ Finch
Richard David âDickâ Finch died March 4, 2014, in Bishop. He was 91.
He was born Jan. 5, 1923, in LaMoure, N.D., to Clarence L. and Bertha Simonson Finch. The family later moved to Bozeman, Mont., where Richard graduated from high school. He received a bachelorâs degree in engineering physics from the University of Montana, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46, including a tour of duty in the Philippines.
He married Kristine Hoverson on Sept. 29, 1945, in Bozeman and they enjoyed 67 happy years together. She died Oct. 1, 2012.
Sandra Vernon Bright
Sandi passed away unexpectedly, following a long illness, at her home in Big Pine on Feb. 28, 2014. Sandi was an avid outdoor enthusiast who loved camping, hiking, scuba diving and long rides. She enjoyed travel, fine dining, sunsets and piÃ±a coladas on the beach at her vacation spot in Mexico. Sandi had many bird feeders on her porch and loved watching the birds return in the spring.
Michele Helen Smith
On Sunday, March 2, 2014 Michele (Grazide) Smith died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Michele was the family matriarch who was deeply loved by her doting children and grandchildren.
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Jana (Bartley) Barnes, a beloved mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter and friend.
Jana left us unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 23 as a result of a brain aneurysm. She is fondly remembered by her family and friends as a vivacious spirit who was well known for her zest for life, always infusing a sense of joy, humor and celebration wherever she went.
Jana spent the last several years of her life devoted to raising her children and caring for her mother with the same joyful energy she brought to all things in life.
Joanne Louise Barton
Joanne Louise Barton, 79 of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. passed away March 2, 2014 at her home in Lake Havasu City.
She was born on April 22, 1934 in Oakland to Francis (Frank) P. Butterworth and Olive L. Veale Butterworth.
Joanne grew up in Northern California where she enjoyed family vacations at the beach. She met her husband Floyd in South Lake Tahoe and they raised their family in beautiful Inyo County. Joanne worked for the Inyo County Recorderâs Office for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and traveling with her husband.
Robert Emil Schroeder
Husband, father, and dear friend Bob Schroeder passed away Feb. 25, 2014 in Gardnerville, Nev., with his beloved wife of 54 years, Joanne, by his side.
Bob was born near St. Louis, Mo. on Dec. 29, 1929 and was the only son to his parents; Emil Fredrick Karl Schroeder and Thelma (Quast) Schroeder. In 1950, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Corporal as a Finance Officer during the Korean Warâ.
Karen Dell Bradley
Karen Dell Bradley, age 77, born in Bishop on Dec. 12, 1936, passed away March 3, 2014 at her home in Big Pine. Karen lived in Big Pine nearly all her life. While making a home for herself and her husband and their three children and six grandchildren, she also helped raise several generations of Big Pine families.
Harold Francis Kopp
On Feb. 19, 2014, Harold Francis Kopp, age 87, longtime resident of Inyo and Mono counties, passed away peacefully at his home in Bishop. He was born Dec. 30, 1926 to Hillard Daniel Kopp and Anna Christine Scott, in Venice Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara; and brothers, Hillard Daniel Jr. and Gerald Loyal Kopp.
