Geraldine Ruth Peek died at 6 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2013. She was received safely into the arms of Jesus who lived, died and rose from the dead for her. Services that will recall God’s mercies to her will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 10:30 a.m. on June 9, 2013.

Kathleen Kelley Roberts
1955-2013
Kathy was born Aug. 5, 1955 in San Diego to Kenneth and Dolores Kelley. She passed away April 27, 2013 at Renown Medical Center in Reno after a heroic battle with a life debilitating illness that lasted several years. Most people never knew the seriousness of the health issues she was facing because Kathy was the type of person who hid her pain with a smile and looked to others first.

Mark Marino Mancini, age 42, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his home on April 17, 2013. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at Immanuel Baptist Chapel, 1201 N. China Lake Blvd. in Ridgecrest. Pastor Bill Logan will be officiating.
Mark was born Aug. 25, 1970 in Orange County. In 1975 the family moved to Lone Pine where they owned the Scrub Board Laundromat and a citizen band radio store. Mark graduated from Lone Pine High School in 1988. While there he played football and joined the golf team.

Lifelong Bishop resident Margaret Emily Reynolds, age 92, born in Bishop on Feb. 12, 1921, passed away April 8, 2013 at the Bishop Care Center.
Emily was an LVN and worked at Northern Inyo Hospital for 35 years.
She is survived by her sons, Brent Reynolds of Bishop, Gordon Reynolds of San Diego and Jerry Reynolds of Florida; grandchildren, Sean Reynolds of Roseville, Joshua Reynolds of Sunland and Bethany Dunning of La Crescenta; and brother-in-law, Harry Reynolds of Bishop.
Sandee Hodapp
1957-2013
Sandee Hodapp, 55, resident of Thousand Oaks for 37 years, born in Oxnard on April 29, 1957, passed away on April 12, 2013 at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Hodapp of Thousand Oaks, and daughter, Heather Hodapp of San Diego; parents, John and Betty Young of Bishop; sister, Terri Hawley of Pueblo, Colo.; brother, Gary Young of Bishop; and sister-in-law, Rochelle Young of Bishop.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. April 20, 2013 in Simi Valley.

Today, the world lost a great man and a World War II veteran.
Charlie was born in Sparks, Nev. in 1918. He loved to tinker and build his first car, a Model T from parts he brought home from the dump in his wagon.
At age 17, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he became a chief machinist. While on leave in Portland, Ore., he met the love of his life, Mary Hempe.

Los Altos, Calif. resident Ed Scripps passed away on March 27, 2013 at the age of 71 after a long struggle with residual effects of a major stroke in 2005 that resulted in a fall at his home.

Joan Simone Toles Darrel Turner passed away quietly in her sleep at NNRH in Elko, Nev. on March 13, 2013.
Born to Herbert Leroy Toles and Josephine Marie Toles in Grand Junction, Colo. on Aug. 22, 1937, she was raised in Death Valley Junction/Amargosa Clay Camp area from 1937-1952, moving to Ridgecrest/Homestead and later to Bishop.
