J.P. ‘Sierra Phantom’ Glover
1926-2012
J.P. Glover died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at the Bishop Care Center. He was 85.
Those who knew Glover did not call him by his birth name – most never knew it. He was known as the Sierra Phantom, a nickname earned after living 50 years in the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Billy B. Ingram
1928-2012
Billy B. Ingram, 83, a resident of Bishop for nine years, born in Arkansas on March 31, 1928, passed away Jan. 26, 2012 at the Bishop Care Center.
Billy was a bright, kind and funny man. He always had a smile for you. He touched many hearts and will be missed by all.
Shirley May Morey
1925-2012
Shirley May Morey left her earthly life on Jan. 23, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born on Dec. 25, 1925 in Stockton, Calif. Her parents were Dorothy May (Bloom) Thomas and Elmer Thomas.
Shirley is a graduate of Stockton High School. Shirley selected Bishop as her residence after retiring from the State Department of Highway (Caltrans) because of its community and surrounding nature and mountains.

George Erbeck passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 in Bishop. He was born Feb. 14, 1926 in New Jersey.
Edward Samuel Blair
1923-2012
Edward Samuel Blair, 88 years young resident of Bishop, Calif. for 18 years.
Born April 23, 1923 in St. Louis, Mo.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Brune Mortuary. Following the service, there will be a barbecue/gathering at 32 Coldwater Rd., Chalfant Valley with family and friends. Please come and share your tall tales of Ed, fishing or not.

Barbara Jean Webb McDowell

1943-2012
Barbara Jean Webb McDowell 68 years young, went to fly with the Angels in Heaven on Jan. 15, 2012.
Barbara was born in Moline, Ill. on Dec. 19, 1943, one of seven brothers and sisters of Keith and Audrey Webb. She spent her childhood years growing up in Illinois graduating from Moline Senior High School.
Ann Pellow-Burke
1943-2012
Ann Pellow-Burke was born June 9, 1943 in Spokane, Wash., and went to be with The Lord on Jan. 5, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ann grew up in Spokane and attended Upper Columbia Academy, going on to Walla Walla College and majoring in music. She became a member of a prestigious group called the “Choraliers.”
Roberta Ann (Rogers) Matlick
1925-2012
Roberta Ann Matlick went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 19, 2012 after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. She was 86.

Ruth Amaela Van Cleave Spencer
1915-2012
Born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, Ruth passed away very peacefully at home in Bishop on Jan. 11, 2012, with family by her side. Ruth was 96 and died from renal failure and complications of cancers.
