Dwight ‘Van’ Reed Van De Walker
1935-2012
Dwight (Van) Reed Van De Walker was born April 8, 1935 in Rochester, Minn. He attended Rochester High School, graduating in 1953, and joined the U.S. Navy, serving in Lake Michigan as a corpsman. He married Gwen Barnett on Sept. 6, 1960 in San Diego.

Rowland Fansler, age 82, a lifelong resident of Big Pine, was born in his Gramma Rossi’s home in Big Pine on Jan. 26, 1930, and passed away early Wednesday morning May 16, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Linda Lemmons-Hein
1950-2012
Linda Lemmons-Hein, a 1968 Montclair High School graduate, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2012. Surrounded by her loving husband and children, Linda ended her battle with pancreatic cancer peacefully in her sleep at home.

Brandeen Merle Shuey
1939-2012
Brandeen was born Dec. 11, 1939 to Ida Mae and Brandeen McKenzie in Glendale. She passed away on May 3, 2012. She was 72.
Brandeen spent her youth in the San Fernando Valley until she graduated high school. She met and married Marvin Gene Shuey in 1957. She later moved to Bishop with her three children in 1966 where she worked for Eric Schatt’s Bakery and Central Telephone until she moved to Lone Pine where she spent the rest of her days.

Sherrie was born in San Gabriel, on Sept. 4, 1962. She passed away unexpectedly at home in Merced on Feb. 18, 2012, following a period of illness.
Mary Lou Martin
1927-2012
Mary Lou Martin, age 84, peacefully passed away on April 25, 2012. Born in San Diego on Sept. 11, 1927, she was the daughter of Donnie Delbert Sammons and Margaret Effie Dorr.
She married Rufus Harper Williams in 1946 in Yuma, Ariz. and had two sons, Richard Howard Williams and James Winfield Williams, and a daughter, Leilani May Williams.
In 1954 she married George Martin Jr. who predeceased her in 2001.
Linda McNeill
1941-2012
Linda McNeill age 70, resident of Bishop and Mammoth for 20 years, born in Santa Barbara on June 18, 1941, passed away at her home on May 6, 2012 with her family at her side.
Linda’s life included extensive travel, living three years in Europe with her family and later sailing in the western hemisphere and the south pacific with her husband.

Roderick Lawson Schmidt, epigrapher, anthropologist, hang-glider pilot, motorcycle racer, surfer, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and friend was a longtime resident of Lone Pine.
Stanley Richard Hankins

Graveside services were held Friday at the East Line Street Cemetery for Sparks, Nev. resident Stanley Richard Hankins. Father John Gracey and VFW Post 8988 officiated.
Born Oct. 21, 1947 in Bishop, Stanley passed away April 29, 2012 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Reno. He was 64.
He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was a member of the VFW. He and his wife Donna bred Great Danes.
He will be dearly missed.
