Members of the Douglas County Alpine Club dropped by Death Valley National Park today to help staff rebuild the historic adobe wall at Cow Creek. The wall was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1934 and 1936. Constructed of native earth and water, the wall has suffered from years of exposure to the elements.
The Alpine Club worked with Cornerstones Community Partnerships, The NPS Vanishing Treasures Program and Americorps Blue IV team to stabilize and reconstruct portions of the wall.
