Step back Sandra Bullock â€“ Bishopâ€™s Kristina Blum is the new Miss Congeniality, after winning the title in the Miss California USA 2014 pageant.
Representing the Eastern Sierra, 22-year-old Blum competed in the Miss California USA 2014 Pageant Jan. 2-4 in Long Beach. She is the first blind contestant to compete in that pageant and â€śhopes to challenge others to be all they can be no matter what challenges they face,â€ť said Micah Williams, Blumâ€™s acting public relations person and significant other.
Inyo County Superior Courts have been asked to set a trial date for Dawndee and Kenneth Rossy, the Bishop couple accused of embezzling as much as $1.5 million from the Inyo County Health and Human Services Public Assistance program while Dawndee worked as a supervisor in the department.
District Attorney Tom Hardy said Tuesday that during a Dec. 18 hearing on the embezzlement case, he requested the courts schedule a trial for this coming May. The courts are now tasked with deciding if that is an appropriate time line for the trial to begin.
