For the past 15 years, the Owens Valley native and Bishop High School graduate has been evolving from a self-described heavy-on-the-cream-and-sugar guy to one of the most respected roast masters in the country.

City, county to work out Hanby parcel details

The Bishop City Council heard from an unexpected guest while discussing an agenda item on Monday, the annexation process of approximately 15 acres near Hanby Street to the city.
The parcel is owned by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and scheduled for eventual release under the Long-Term Water Agreement, but not “scheduled for release” as written in the agenda item, said Inyo County Second District Supervisor Susan Cash.

Wish Trees sprout throughout Inyo next week

Inyo County residents have an opportunity to get in the giving spirit next week by making a local youngster’s Christmas wish come true.
The 16th Annual Wish Tree program will kick off Wednesday when Inyo-Mono Advocates for Community Action sets up Wish Trees at The Inyo Register, Mountain Light Gallery, AltaOne and Studio 27 in Bishop; Hi-Country Market and Hardware in Big Pine; at Jenny’s Cafe in Independence; and at El Dorado Savings and the Espresso Parlor in Lone Pine.
