Where was Wily Coyote when the Bishop Lady Broncos needed him?
Tied with the Rosamond Roadrunners softball team for first place in the High Desert League, the 4-0 Broncos fell victim to untimely errors and solid Roadrunner pitching with their 1-5 loss Tuesday afternoon on home field. What they could have used were a few sticks of dynamite or a piece of Acme heavy equipment to disrupt a very strong Rosamond team.

A crew from Caltrans clears the road on Tioga Pass just in time to allow brave and hearty anglers access to high-country fishing spots during this weekendâs fishing opener. Caltrans has re-opened the pass (State Route 120 West/Tioga Pass Road) to the east Yosemite Park Entrance Gate. The highway will remain closed beyond the park. âUsers can access S.R. 120 for recreational activities from the junction of U.S. 395 at Lee Vining up to the park entrance closure gate,â a press release from Caltrans states. Lone Pineâs Lady Golden Eagles leveled the Mojave Mustangs on the road Friday with a big 17-1 win.
âWe came out a little flat in the first two innings,â said coach Liz Jones who chalked the flatness up to the team âjust making the coach nervous.â
Lone Pine took off in the third, burying the Mustangs with hits.
The Eagles, 3-2, are third in Desert Mountain League, nipping at the heels of the Boron at 5-0 and Vasquez, 4-1. Lone Pine heads to Vasquez tomorrow.
