Local law enforcement officers in Independence got an unexpected request for service Monday night.
According to Sheriffâ€™s Public Information Officer Carma Roper, at about 10 p.m. a resident walked into the lobby of the Sheriffâ€™s Administrative Office/Inyo County Jail and requested an ambulance because his wife was in labor in the parking lot.
Sheriffâ€™s Corporal Chris Connolly, and ICJ Correctional Officers John Bartlett and Vicki Michener immediately responded.
Aug. 15, 2013 â€“ Inyo County Sheriffâ€™s Officials received a tip Monday morning that a parolee at large out of Sacramento with an active CDC parole warrant was hiding out at a residence in Olancha.
According to Public Information Officer Carma Roper, deputies were informed that the he may be carrying a handgun. Officers responded to the location and spotted 34 year old Dameshelo Antwone Green, the suspect, leaving the residence on foot.
Green was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Inyo County Jail on a parole hold. After his arrest no weapon was located.
