Bishop softball team drops first HDL game

April 24, 2013

Where was Wily Coyote when the Bishop Lady Broncos needed him?
Tied with the Rosamond Roadrunners softball team for first place in the High Desert League, the 4-0 Broncos fell victim to untimely errors and solid Roadrunner pitching with their 1-5 loss Tuesday afternoon on home field. The Bishop Broncos junior varsity baseball team ran rings around the Rosamond Roadrunners at home Tuesday. The 10-0 win maintains the Broncos perfect league season.
“The boys are getting the proper work in at practice and it shows,” said coach Chris Walston. “I couldn’t be happier with how they’re playing.”
Bronco Thomas Montoya pitched four and two-thirds innings with 11 strikeouts and 1 walk. Alex Armitage came in in the bottom of the fourth to finish out the game with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.
