Detectives with the Bishop Police Department continue looking into the alleged embezzlement of an undisclosed amount of money from the welfare division of Inyo County Health and Human Services.
Bishop Police Chief Chris Carter said Monday that no arrests have been made in the case, and no new information is available.
The last update from the PD regarding its investigation into the theft came in late January, when the PD issued a search warrant for the home of Bishop resident Dondee Rossy, 46, an Inyo County HHS manager who was named as âa person of interestâ in the case.

Right now, the biggest still-to-do on the list concerns an ongoing negotiation over the disposition of Hospiceâs former home at 155 Pioneer Ln. in Bishop.
NIH, which owns the building and property, is eyeing the facility for a future Rural Health Clinic expansion. However, since Hospice raised all the money to pay for the buildingâs construction, the hospital district is trying to find a way to compensate Hospice.

A dearly-loved spring tradition will be drawing anglers to High Sierra waterways again this month for pre-season fishing, competitions and prizes.
The 46th Annual Blake Jones Trout Derby will be held at the Pleasant Valley Reservoir and nearby Owens River Saturday, March 16.
âSince the event lands the day before Saint Patrickâs Day this year, (we) hope to have âgood luck putting on the biggest and best derby yet,â said Tawni Thomson, executive director of Bishop Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, which is hosting the derby.
