Broncos unravel Ravens

October 15, 2012

The Bishop Broncos beat the California City Ravens, 48-7.
The football game wasn’t as close as the numbers imply. Befitting a Homecoming Game, the Broncos controlled the ball, the clock, the field, everything but a couple of Ravens’ speedy, little running backs and early game drizzles.
The Ravens have improved over the last few years but not enough to make a dent in the football juggernaut that is Bishop.

“We had four first-half turnovers,” said coach Arnie Palu, “but came back in the second half and played well.”
The Broncos’ defense held Cal City to a field goal on a Ravens’ first-half possession. Bishop’s offense answered with a J.J. Camarata interception and return for a TD, giving the Broncos the lead at 7-3.
