Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 at Brune Mortuary Chapel in Bishop for longtime Bishop resident Warren D. Pueblo. Shirley Summers will officiate. Burial will be at Sunland Cemetery in Bishop. A cry-dance will be held the evening of Saturday, Sept. 24 at 60 N. Barlow Ln.
Born Feb. 17, 1954 in Bishop, Warren passed away Sept. 17, 2011 at Renown Medical Center in Reno. He was 57.

James Music was born March 28, 1953 in Aransas Pass, Texas and passed on Aug. 14, 2011 in Prescott, Ariz.
He was the son of the late Wanda Vickery of Benton, Calif. and the late G.B. Music, Jr. who rests in Texas.

Firms invited to get in line for Digital 395 jobs

High-speed broadband capability is coming to Inyo County and local contractors and vendors are being asked to help speed it along.
According to Dan Stone, president of the Owens Valley Contractors and Vendors Association, the California Broadband Cooperative, Inc., which is funding the Digital 395 project, is working with the OVCVA to ensure local businesses are on board and have first dibs on economy-boosting contracts the project will bring.

Inyo-Mono tours being offered

What started as an effort to educate those on the front-lines of Inyo’s tourist-based economy about local attractions, has blossomed into a series of tours open to anyone and everyone interested in some of the area’s more overlooked destinations.
Based on the success of the Bishop Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Frontline Tourist Providers Tours” in August, which saw hotel, visitors center and other service industry employees taking advantage of the opportunity to better assist tourists, the Chamber has launched a similar program for the public at large.

Cultural festival returns to Bishop Reservation

An inter-tribal gathering, a sharing of different tribal cultures, a dance, social party, spiritual event and for some a way of life – a pow wow is a combination of all these things, according to Wanda Summers, one of the organizers of this year’s 31st Annual Pabanamanina Gathering and Pow Wow to be held on the Bishop Paiute Indian Reservation this weekend.
