Sally Margaret Tice
No funeral services have been announced for Sally Margaret Tice.
Born Oct. 24, 1924 in Delrose, Tenn. to Mary Patricia Archer and Frank Stone, Sally died April 1, 2011 in hospice in Parker, Colo.
Sally lived most of her life in California and attended the Mono Lake School. She lived in Lee Vining and Cane Ranch from 1931 to 1940, returning to work as the rural mail carrier in 1946, delivering mail to Bodie.
Colleen Margaret Tillemans
Graveside services will be held today, Saturday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at the Big Pine Cemetery for 40-year Big Pine resident Colleen Margaret Tillemans. Father John Gracey will officiate.
Born June 23, 1948 in Santa Monica, Colleen died April 6, 2011 at her home in Big Pine. She was 62.
A recent survey ranking the health conditions of U.S. counties reveals mixed results for Inyo.
In the same study, titled âCounty Health Rankings,â Inyo is ranked second for âclinical careâ and âphysical environmentâ but 50th out of 56 counties for âhealth outcomes.â
Inyo-Mono Public Health Officer Dr. Rick Johnson said this yearâs rankings will be compared to last yearâs rankings to see what can be gleaned from the information.
The Big Pine Lady Warriors softball team dropped the first game against the Trona Tornados 8-14 Friday, then came back to avenge the loss with a 26-7 rout.
âWe should have won both games,â said coach Bob Church. âWe gave up too many bases on balls combined with defensive errors.â
Big Pine came back in the second game with a scoring drive in the bottom of the second inning to secure the second-game win.
